The Responsible is the first episode of Season One of The Amazing World of Gumball.
Plot
When Rich forgets to hire a babysitter for Anais, Nicole decides to let Gumball and Darwin babysit her instead while they go have a conference with Gumball and Darwin's teacher. After Nicole and Rich leave, Anais starts to go upstairs, but Gumball and Darwin forbid her because "79 % of stair accidents happen on the stairs." So instead, Anais decided to watch tv, which they allowed until the commercials came on. Gumball and Darwin then stated that commercials brain wash you so they smash the television set with a bat, setting it on fire. They then throw a bucket of water on it despite Anais' advice to not throw water on an electrical fire. She then puts it out wih a fire extinguisher. Gumball and Darwin decide to take Anais for a walk in the park, where they drag her along with a leash. An old man then stops and teases her with a dog biscuit. Afterwards, Gumball and Darwin make Anais a disgusting lunch. They then decide to chew it and spit it back out so she didn't choke on it. She then spit it back out them so Gumball and Darwin made her take a bath. Darwin points out that water is dangerous so they ask her to dry clean herself. She decides to take a regular bath anyway. Before she hops in they ask her to wear a diaper so she doesn't have an accident. Anais decides she has had enough so she starts running around the house with Gumball and Darwin chasing her the whole way, while the bath water is still running. Anais eventually locks them out on the roof and Taunts them by not following their rules. She starts to go take her bath but then she realizes the floor is soaking wet and the house is flooded. She can't open the window so she is stuck in her bedroom while Gumball and Darwin are forced to climb through the sewers to get inside. They swim into the Fireplace and out the chimney. Nicole and Rich then get home and are swallowed by the amount of water that meets them when they open the front door. Nicole says she is furious and asks who is responsible. Anais starts to confess but then Gumball says he wants to take responsibility for once. He then sees how angry Nicole is then instead blames it on Darwin. Darwin then states out that Anais let the faucet running, and Anais says it's Nicole's fault for leaving them their by themselves. Nicole then points fingers at Rich for not hiring a babysitter. He then points to a smashed laptop and says "I blame the internet". They all agree and the episode ends.
Synopsis
When Darwin and Gumball have to babysit Anais, things get crazy and Anais accidentally floods the house.
