The End is the fifth episode of Season One of The Amazing World of Gumball.
Synopsis
Gumball and Darwin believe the world is ending and make the best of their last day.
Plot
The episode begins with Gumball and Darwin flipping through TV channels eating potato chips. After a moment, Gumball asks Darwin if his heart is still beating. Darwin check his heart, when it doesn't beat they start to worry. After Gumballs heart beats (which of coarse they are relieved to find out), they flip through the TV again. Comercials come on saying " Listen Gumball, the world will end in 24 hours, so look for the signs." they suspect something then ignore it. Later, the boys are on the school bus, then some weirdo walks over screaming "The end is near! For our discount sale, so hurry up." Gumball and Darwin don't notice the last part though. Afterwards, lunch starts and birds fly quikly together in the same direction, to eat Anton the toast. The boys suspect somethings going on. Suddenly Bobert walks up and asks them if they want to watch a solar eclipse in exactly 24 hours. Then Bobert explains what happens in a solar eclipse, and the Mayans believed that it will signify the end of the world. The boys realized what this meant. THE END OF THE WORLD!!! They panic and run away. Bobert takes that as a yes. 29:59:58, Gumball panics and starts to cry. Then they remind themselves that 24 hours is a lot of time, so Gumball asks Darwin what he whathe wants to do with his life, but he gets boring, Gumball thinks they should do something he wants to do. 22:42:50 Gumball is bored out of his mind, he tells Penny to kiss him. Then with absolutly no warning Miss Simian gives out a test, but Gumball refuses to do it and pours water on Msr Simion (She was furious about that). 22:10:10 Gumball got detention, he realizes hes late for his wedding. Later Penny and Gumball have a wedding (duh), Penny has 3 reasons why they shouldn't marry, they're both 12, they're getting married in the school corridor, and her wedding ring is a bagel, so she tells him that it shouldn't stop him from asking her again in 20 years and kisses him on the cheek. Then out of the blue he proposed to Carmen. 13:02:58 The watersons are eating, Anais notices Gumball has a perm. after a little while Gumball explains what's going on, but Nicole and Anias just laugh. Richard tells them they should prepare for their survival. 05:03:54 Dad tries to go to the store, after 3 failed etampts they decide to walk. A gaurd tells them no running so they race walk and get as much food as possible. The line at the check out counter they go to the self service isle. 03:57:20 Dad fails to check out a can over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. 03:57:20 They all race walk out of the store without paying, and Richardthrows money at the gaurd. 00:57:22 Richard gets a toilet for them to hide in, but none of them fit. After a while Darwin and Gumball decide to sacrifice themselves for their familys' safety. 00:00:33 Darwin and Guball spend their last hours with each other. the eclipse was upon them a huge shadow covered the city, but the moon peroets across the sun. The world wasn't going to end after all. The boys learned an important lesson: You should live your life to the fullest, because it can be very long or very short. Gumball sugjests they watch some TV, but Anais, Nicole and Richard are still in the toilet. Richard tries to kick the door open, but they just fall over. Richard says "That's exactly what happened last time." That was probobly the most akward ending ever.

- Oddly, this episode aired two days after an end of the world prediction date.
- Some parts of this episode parodies scenes from 2012. Like in one scene, Gumball and Darwin see the birds fly over to Anton. In 2012, The birds fly away before the Yellowstone super eruption.
